Pumpkin Patch Day is one of my favorite days of the season! It deserves all caps because Mike can tell you that I look forward to this day for a while, and it gets treated as a holiday in our household. This year, we went to Hunt Club Farm on opening day. It was 90 degrees, so our time there was brief lol.
This oversized BP tank and J. Crew Factory Chino Shorts were perfect for a trip to the pumpkin patch. The tank isn’t sold anymore, but this Free People Long Beach Tank in “Mushroom” is v similar and only $20. This Baublebar Gold Ribbon Monogram Necklace has been a staple for over 7 years now. It’s crazy to think that I’m going to be changing my monogram soon! Dirt from the pumpkins blended in with the tank perfectly, and it was breezy enough to hide the fact that I was a sweaty mess. The shoes probably weren’t ideal for trompin’ around in the dirt, and I definitely got a few strange looks. But, the UPS man had just delivered them and I couldn’t wait. Know the feeling?
Fall is my ish. I love the temp. I love the clothes. I love the leaves, and Mike really couldn’t give a crap. He can feign interest sooo well, and that’s a huge reason why I love this day so much. He drives me all around Virginia Beach from Andersons to Hunt Club to Walmart, spending hours looking at pumpkins, talking about home decor, and hauling heavy stuff in the godforsaken heat. If that’s not love, I don’t know what is!
There are so many great pumpkin patches in Virginia Beach. Anderson’s Garden Center usually has a good package deal with mums, cornstalks, and pumpkins that we have bought before. Shockley’s Farm Market is my other favorite! It’s right across from Virginia Beach General Hospital. I love to stop by for fresh veggies (and the cutest tiny pumpkins) when I’m nearby.
Surprise!
The surprising thing that happened at the pumpkin patch is that I ran into my favorite local TV journalist and blogger, Hoang-Kim Cung. I’ve had a girl crush on Hoang-Kim ever since my Miss Teen Chesapeake days! Quick rant, she is the first Vietnamese American woman to win a state title, Miss Nebraska 2015, on the Miss USA pageant circuit. I was nervous to introduce myself, but I’m so glad that I did! She was just as warm, sweet, and funny as she is on TV and IG. We had probably a 5 minute talk before we split ways. It was such a sweet surprise! Check out her blog, Color & Chic, for the best petite fashion!
Thanks for reading, ya’ll! Comment below and let me know who your favorite blogger is and where you buy your pumpkins!
