Pop the champagne, y’all! Feb 2nd marks 1 month of blogging for me…and Mike anddd my mom who are on this journey with me whether they like it or not lol. This month has taught me A LOT. I’ve learned so much about myself, my friends & family, time management, gosh I’ll just stop there. The #1 thing I learned is how much I truly appreciate the people in my life.
As we all know, your reach as a blogger on Instagram/Pinterest/Google/etc is driven by your “engagement”. So, even if you regularly post great content, it doesn’t matter unless your people are actively commenting and liking your photos. Sooo many of our friends that don’t give a 💩 about sweaters and meal preps have liked my page and commented encouraging things. Just to be there, to be present and supportive, and I see that! Ya’ll, thank you from the bottom of my heart!
Maybe it makes me sound like a brat and as if I didn’t know how thankful I was for my friends until I started a blog. Let me explain. What I mean is that I’ve never done something this unexpected and “in your face”? I can usually predict what my friends & family will think about something, but I had no clue what they would think about me starting a style blog. So, I am blown away by the kindness of everyone, and it means the world to me.
I haven’t dealt with any negativity which is a huge blessing but also probably because I carry concealed. jk but really. It’s pretty cool that if people are thinking mean things, they are keeping it to themselves.
Like I said before, I had been writing in this blog since last February (1 year ago!). For a while, I didn’t know if I even wanted to make it public. I didn’t know if people would laugh at me because everyone and their sister has a blog these days. Would people would talk about me the same way I have admittedly talked about people who relentlessly nag me to buy their products? Trust me, I get it! But when I sat on the couch of our Aibnb and hit “publish” (with coaching from MG), I became a little more confident in myself. Now, I feel like I can help other girls find their confidence too.
So, THANK YOU to everyone who has used their precious time to read this blog, like my posts, re-pin my pins, comment sweet things, and give me constructive feedback. You are helping me spread this message of positivity and confidence to the girls of Hampton Roads.
So cheers to you & cheers to month 2!!
