Warning: this Easter bark recipe will cause you to smile ear to ear.
I was raised by a mom who did the most for every holiday and every school lunch. Most of the sandwiches in my lunchbox were cut out in the shape of butterflies or something seasonal. She had a set of cookie cutters for every holiday. My mom never missed an opportunity to celebrate, and I always wanted to be like that when I grew up.
So, naturally I love all things festive. I follow Dylan’s Candy Bar on Instagram, and just completely adore all the bright colored candies. I rarely eat candy, but just looking at it makes me happy lol!
This Easter bark recipe is so fun because you can customize it however you want! Add in different color/flavor oreos or M&Ms, add in chocolate chips, sparkly sprinkles…the possibilities are endless. š
You’ll need:
- 1Ā packageĀ vanilla candy coating (24 oz), buy it here
- 1 packageĀ Easter/Spring OreosĀ crushed, here
- Pastel M&Ms, here (bonus pts if you can find pastel peanut butter)
- Unicorn Sprinkle Mix, here
- Parchment Paper & Cookie Sheet
- Cute Spring Gifting Boxes, here
- or Pastel Glass Food Storage Container, here
- Beechwood Mallet, here (not necessary to break the bark, but v handy if you have one laying around from a dinner party)
Instructions:
- Crush the candy! Make sure all the candy is open and crushed to your liking before melting the chocolate because once it hardens, the candy pieces will not stick to the bark. Crush by covering candy with a paper towel on a paper plate and mash with the bottom of a water glass.
- Melt Vanilla Candy Coating per instructions on the packaging in the microwave & don’t let it burn like I did the first time š
- Pour the Candy coating on baking sheet lined with parchment paper
- Start with the smallest candies, sprinkles, then M&Ms, then oreos and decorate your beautiful easter bunny bark!
- Resist the urge to poke it to see if it is cooled
- Place in the fridge for about 60 min
- Use your wooden mallet, gently lift and break apart
- Place your gorgeous bark in a parchment-lined gift box if you are giving some away to a neighbor…this will certainly make their day! š
