Welcome to my 500 square foot Baltimore apartment! 👋 This tiny place is my haven from the insanity of Baltimore City trauma.
I made an effort to make this place as peaceful as possible with the neutral and coastal hues. Also, I figured this was my one chance to decorate a place however I want because it is all mine!
During non-pandemic times, I really didn’t see much of this place. I just came home to eat, sleep, shower, and workout. However, Mike sees a lot of this place. Coming from a 4 bed/3 bath home, this quaint little place (that is the size of my previous bedroom in Virginia Beach btw) is just enough room for us. Except on the love seat, which is hard to share with another person for hours on end. 😂
When we came to town for my final interview with Stryker, we did 1.5 days of packed apartment tours. We didn’t know anything about the city neighborhoods, so we spent allll day walking around. We decided on Union Wharf, but had some slight hesitation about the price. On our way out of town on Sunday, we stopped by Anthem House just for an “ah what the heck, let’s check it out.”
Mike took one look at Amber, the craft brewery in the lobby, and the Under Armour-designed gym….and fell in love. A few days later, I received an offer from Stryker and signed a lease for an apartment I had never seen!
I had the option of choosing the apartment with a harbor view or one with custom closet installations (and a view of “To Hunt A Killer”). Obvi, I chose the one with closets! 💁
Living here has been convenient. The gym is just down the hall, there are multiple spacious areas to sit by the fire and watch tv, walking distance to downtown, and most importantly, I feel safe. Because this place is a teeny little box, there are a ton of photos and pieces of art that I had to leave behind. My friend, Ashley, made us this beautiful wooden sign for our wedding and it was so hard to choose what would come up here and what would stay in Virginia Beach.
Mike didn’t waste any time in changing some things in Virginia Beach. He installed a home gym in the office, and has put huge frat-sized trash cans in the bathroom, and Lord only knows what else.
It has been a nice little 5 months so far of living here, but I’ll be so happy when I can move back into a home and not hear the fire alarm go off at 2:30AM lol.
Thanks for coming to check out my Baltimore apartment/ Mike’s pied-à-terre. If you are wondering why the heck I’m here, check out my post Here’s Why I Moved to Baltimore. Hope you have a happy Wednesday!
xx, Chels
